1. Pop the hood on the Maxima.The exhaust manifold on a Nissan Maxima is mounted on the cylinder attitude. 3. Unbolt the exhaust manifold from the engine block using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket and an open-end wrench, depending on how easily you can access the bolts. Pull the manifold off of the engine and elsewhere from the engine bay.
