You can also see how your car compares to other cars in terms of CO2 emissions. For example, a 2002 Toyota Corolla emits 6.1 tons of CO2 annually.
For example, after you select "2002 Toyota Corolla," you will see three options: a manual 5-speed transmission, an automatic 4-speed transmission or an automatic 3-speed transmission. Click on the option that corresponds to your car.3. Scroll down and look under the "Carbon Impact" section of the next page. This falls at the lower end of the range the DOE measures, which spans from 3.5 tons per year (for a car with a small carbon footprint) to 16.2 tons per year (for a car with a large carbon footprint). This measurement includes carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane emissions and considers every step from fuel production to refining, distribution and use.
