Fix A Torn Auto Weather Strip

Weather stripping is an indispensable Element of any motorcar. It keeps outside the forces of world, such as dirt, moisture, snow and pollution, protecting the interior. Without it, the metal labour would corrode and the upholstery would be ruined in a affair of months. Weather strips are mythical of rubber and are prone to shrinking and brittleness. The adhesive can crack and dry elsewhere, causing parts of it to come off. Furthermore, damage to the machine can as well distort the weather strips. Inevitably, replacing damaged weather strips is a part of auto maintenance.


Instructions


1. Peel off the old weather strip, after removing any screws, slowly using a silicone scraper or a hard plastic knife. Apply adhesive, the weather strip variant, to the frame as well as the side of the weather strip that goes on the frame. Slowly place the new weather strip back in the frame ensuring that all holes and contours are properly filled by it.5. Properly screw in the weather strip and glue down the ends to provide a smooth finish.


Place the new weather strip across the contours of the frame to ensure that it fits properly, then remove it.


3. Rinse the new weather strip and use sandpaper to remove unwanted debris.


4. A putty knife may scratch the paint below. Strips that do not come off easy can be heated with a blow dryer to soften the glue beneath them before removing them.2.
