Take apart The Large Dog Supertrapp Exhaust

The inspiration for Capacious Dog Motorcycles.


All-inclusive disassembly of a SuperTrapp exhaust installed on a Bull Dog motorcycle includes Emigration of the the works exhaust from the motorcycle; separation of the muffler or mufflers from the header pipes; removal of the end cap and disc assembly from the muffler; and removal of the core assembly from the muffler body. The job may look daunting but it's actually very easy. Disassembly of the exhaust requires only a few basic tools and the removal of fewer than 15 fasteners.


Instructions


1. Remove the heat shields from the SuperTrapp exhaust by loosening the worm clamps that hold the shields to the exhaust with a flat head screwdriver.


2. Remove the exhaust support bracket that connects the exhaust to the motorcycle chassis with a socket wrench and hex socket.


3. Loosen and remove the two oxygen sensors with an open end wrench. Loosen and remove the four bolts that mate the header pipes to the exhaust headers with a hex socket and socket wrench.


4. Remove the entire exhaust assembly from the motorcycle by hand.


7. Unscrew the two 1/4 inch Allen screws on the bottom of the muffler. Remove the muffler core assembly.



5. Loosen and remove the 5/16 inch hex bolt or bolts that secures the muffler or mufflers to the header pipes with a socket wrench and hex socket.6. Remove the end cap-disc stack assembly from each muffler by loosening the 1/4 inch end cap screws with an Allen socket and socket wrench.
