Obtain A Personalized License Plate In Wisconsin

Wisconsin's Branch of Transportation leaves no options outside when it comes to personalized plate choice. The Badger Country offers a digit of specialty license plates from which to select, including plates committed to interests (including sports teams and descendant welfare) to accomplishments (such as military office and awards).


Instructions


1. Log on to Wisconsin's Branch of Transportation Net speck (look below).


2. Access an authorized operate for personalized licence plates by selecting "Drivers and Vehicles," clicking on "Licence Plates Availability," selecting "Definite and Personalized Licence Plates" and clicking on "Definite License Plates."


3. Skim the descriptions of the list of personalized license plates and choose the personalized license plate that you are interested in obtaining. Download the corresponding form. Be advised that certain personalized license plates are only available to eligible parties. Make sure to read over the requirements on the application to determine your own eligibility before filling out and sending your request.


4. Read the instructions section on the form before proceeding to the application portion of the form. Keep all rules, regulations, policies and class designations in mind while filling out the application.


5. Provide all information requested on the form including, but not limited to, your personal information (such as name, address and driver's license or social security number, and daytime telephone number) and your vehicle's information (such as its identification number, the registered owner's name, the vehicle's year, make and model and its current plate). Be sure to include the contact information of certifiers, if required.10. Determine your fees and make a personal check or money order out to Registration Fee Trust.


If you choose to personalize your license plate with a specific message, you must follow all rules and regulations regarding message creation outlined on the form. You must also provide meanings for your chosen messages.


7. Indicate whether you would prefer the information provided on your application to remain exempt.


8. Sign and date your application to certify its truthfulness.


9. Collect all eligibility documentation. Make copies or include originals as per the directions of the form. Depending on the specialty license plate you choose, you may be able to include a copy of your Certificate of Registration instead of filling out your vehicle's information.6. Decide on whether you would like to personalize your specialty license plates.



11. Mail your application, any supplementary eligibility documentation and payment to Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Special Plates Unit, PO Box 7911, Madison, WI 53707-7911.


12. Receive your personalized license plates within 4 to 6 weeks. Affix any new decals on your permanent personalized plates upon receipt and use.
