Replace A Headlamp On The 2002 Kia Sedona

Headlamps are an exigent safety Element when driving at gloom.

Introduced in 1998, the Kia Sedona (originally called the Circus) was the Korean Car manufacturer's cardinal minivan. The 2002 Sedona was all the more bite of the vehicle's beginning hour. The headlight course on the Sedona used halogen capsule inserts for both the high-beam and low-beam headlamps. Unlike the old-style sealed beam headlamps, the halogen capsules burn brighter and longer. Nevertheless, the capsules are placed inside the headlamp meeting. This ofttimes requires removing the headlamp meeting (as with the Sedona) or some components in the engine compartment to achievement access to the headlamps.

Instructions

1. Expansive the hood of the 2002 Kia Sedona. Establish the headlamp assembly retaining screws. One screw is located on the top rear of the assembly, and the other two are located on the side of the assembly near the grill. Remove the screws with the 10 mm nut driver.

2. Unseat the headlamp assembly's guide-pins by pulling the assembly forward away from the minivan. If necessary, use the screwdriver or pry bar to assist in prying the assembly forward to unseat the guide-pins.

3. Pull the headlamp assembly forward enough to gain access to the wire harness connections plugged directly into the headlamp capsules. Disconnect the wire harnesses from the blades of the capsules. Remove the headlamp assembly.

Reattach the headlamp wire harnesses to the blades of the respective capsules. Reinstall the headlamp assembly in the cavity and align the guide-pins. Push the headlamp assembly in until the guide-pins lock into the ball sockets.8.

Put on a rubber glove or two before handling the new replacement capsule to avoid touching the glass bulb. Oil from your skin can create weak spots in the glass of the halogen bulbs, and the intense heat they emit will burn it out prematurely if compromised.

6. Insert the new bulb in place. The outer tabs of the bulb socket will lock to secure the bulb in place once inserted.

7.4. Twist off the plastic cap of the faulty headlamp bulb. Squeeze the outer tabs on the bulb socket and pull it out.5.

Test the headlamps to ensure that they're working properly before replacing the headlamp assembly retaining screws.
