On most fresh vehicles, trundle precipitation sensors are positioned at all 4 wheels. Exciter rings are attached to Everyone shove hub and feature as Attractive globe generator in conjunction with the Attractive pickup attached to the trundle speed sensor. Sensors measure wheel speed of each wheel and sends signal to ABS control module that monitors wheel speed during vehicle operation.
Instructions
3. Use wire stripper to remove insulation on each end of the new wire. Use wire connectors of the matching gauge to the ABS wire and use wire stripper clamp feature to close the wire connector on both ends. This is called splicing the wire.
Do not use a test light to probe the wire as this will cause an over volt that could destroy the control module.
2. Using wire cutters, cut out the length of wire that is defective. Use wire strippers to remove insulation sufficient to expose 1/4 inch of the wire at both ends.
Replacing wiring to ABS wheel speed sensor
1. Once it is determined that the wire going to the speed sensor is defective, wire should be probed every few inches with DVOM to determine how much of the wire is defective. Once the amount of damaged wire is determined, steps can be taken to replace the wire. Once both ends of the new wire a connected to the usable ends of the old wire, use volt ohm meter to ensure that the replacement wire is in working condition.4. Do not use magnetic or magnetized tools near the wheel speed center. This will damage the sensor and the sensor will have to be replaced.
5. Once wire are determined to be in working order, use a scan tool for the specific year model of the vehicle and check wheel speed sensor operation. Scan tools are connected to a pin connector under the dash and behind the fuse box or under the glove box. Scan tool will test the sensor and determine if it is functioning properly.
