Repair A Rusted Inner Rocker Panel

The rocker panels on a vehicle are along the backside of the thing. Rocker panels are a hotspot for mud, dirt, damp and plan grime, all of which can contribute to rust over a short space of allotment. The inner rocker panels are normally the most rusted globe on an older vehicle. This is considering when washing a vehicle, most mankind don't distance under to the bottom of the rocker panels To cleanse the inner rocker panel. Repair a rusted inner rocker panel and prevent rust from forming holes in your vehicle.


Instructions


1. Prompt underneath the vehicle so that you can beam and distance the inner rocker panels. Wear goggles over your eyes to protect them from falling rust and dirt. Use a grinder to lightly grind away the surface rust on the inner fenders. A stiff wire brush could be used in place of a grinder to scrub the inner rocker panels.


2. Sand the inner rocker panels with 80 grit sandpaper. This gets rid of most remaining rust and prepares the surface for the next step.


3. Spray a thick coat of rust stop spray onto the entire inner fender. Use a painter's mask to protect yourself from inhaling the fumes. Let the spray dry for thirty minutes. Rust stop spray can be sprayed over remaining rust. Bed liner material is available in a spray or roll on form and is very thick. It needs 24 hours to dry completely and cannot be removed.


The spray transforms rust into a sandable, paintable material and can be painted over with no further preparation. It also prevents future rust.4. Paint the inner rocker panels with automotive paint or use bed liner material, which provides the most protection.
