Instructions

1. Enter the drivers side of the Lincoln.


Whether you cannot remove it with your help, convenience a flat-head screwdriver to carefully pry it off. Filter the fuel elsewhere of the cistern in to the pan. Exchange the bleed cap.


3. Maneuver the motorcar jack directly underneath the fuel tank. Raise the jack up so that it supports the fuel tank. Use a wrench to remove the bolts which hold the two straps beneath the engine in place.


4. Carefully lower the jack half way down as it supports the fuel tank. Disconnect the fuel lines with your hands, removing them from their connectors. Remove the mounting bolts which fix the fuel pump to the top of the fuel tank. Lift the fuel pump off the tank.


5. Place the new fuel pump on to the fuel tank and fix in place with the mounting bolts. Reattach the fuel lines in to the fuel tank and raise the fuel tank back in to position in the vehicle. Reassemble the engine following the removal steps in reverse. Place the fuel back in to the fuel tank. Reattach the negative terminal to the battery before turning on the engine to check that the fuel pump is now working as it should.
