Install An Ecm On The 2001 Dodge Caravan

The engine curb module (ECM) in your 2001 Dodge Caravan is a meager central pc that controls many of the electrical functions in your car. Further admitted as the powertrain bridle module, the ECM processes data relayed to it by the vehivle's many electrical functions. Pull the old ECM out.5. Set the new ECM in place and insert the lower mounting bolt by hand. Tighten the bolt with your socket set.


Disconnect both the negative and positive battery cables on your Caravan.


2. Locate your Caravan's ECM. It is mounted under the hood on the driver's side of the engine block, between the headlight and the van's battery.


3. Use a socket set to remove the two electrical connectors that attach to the top of the ECM.


4. Find the lower mounting bolt that holds the ECM in place and remove it with your socket set.

Instructions

1. Raise the hood and prop it open.



6. Attach the two electrical connections to the top of your ECM with your socket set.


7. Reconnect both the negative and positive battery cables on your Caravan, using the socket set.
