Replace A Car'S Console

2. Take out existing cup holders, storage compartments, coin trays or ashtrays To seek hidden screws or bolts. You may need a flathead screwdriver to pry these out, if they don't lift out easily.


3. Unscrew screws or bolts that hold the car's console in place and lift out.


4. Remove the boot around the shift lever. With a boot, you may be able to use a flathead screwdriver to unclip clips, or you may have to unscrew screws from the underside of the console.


5. Replace the old console with the new console, reversing Steps 2 to 4. If the console is designed for your particular make and model, the screws should match the existing screw holes. If not, go To pace 6.


6. Determine placement of screws or bolts in the floor. Use a drill to create new holes for the console brackets.
