The personal computer development on a 1999 Saturn SL2 is designed to detector the vehicle in direction to detect problems as they occur. The leading pc bonded for monitoring the vehicle's health is called the powertrain ascendancy module (PCM). When the PCM detects a complication, it saves a trouble code in its anamnesis. This trouble code contains a mail followed by three numbers, and corresponds to a particular puzzle within the vehicle. A scan tool is required to associate to the PCM and retrieve this rule.
Instructions
1. Shift the SL2's transmission into grounds or elementary gear (guide). Turn off the engine and allot the parking brake. Write down all of the codes displayed on the scan tool's screen. Power down the scan tool and disconnect it from the vehicle.
3. Power on the scan tool and select "PCM" from the main menu. Select "codes," then select "read all current and stored codes." Wait for the scan tool to display the codes.
4. Turn the ignition to the "RUN" position, but don't start the engine.2. Plug the scan tool's data cable into the Saturn's diagnostic port located underneath the dashboard on the driver's side, just above the pedals.
