Switch The Radiator Hose On The 1991 Ford Taurus

1. Park the Taurus on a level surface. Lift the hood, and allow the engine to cool.2.

A radiator has an upper and lower hose to move coolant in a continual circle to the radiator and engine. Radiator hoses consist of thick, high-temperature resistant rubber to transport close antifreeze. After distinct age of advantage, hoses deteriorate, resulting in holes or cracks in the rubber. Check radiator hoses for power by squeezing them. Whether the hoses compress easily, they are fitting defective and call for replacing in your 1991 Ford Taurus.

Instructions

1. 2ConsequentUnmarried EpisodeMetal bands with worm screws occupation radiator hoses in area.

Place a drain pan under the radiator drain valve. Turn the radiator drain ½ revolution to open it. Let the coolant drain completely out of the radiator.

3. Insert a flat-head screwdriver in the worm screw on the bottom radiator hose. Turn the screw counterclockwise to loosen the band near the radiator. Repeat this procedure to loosen the other end of the top hose.

4. Grasp each end of the hose, and pull it off the radiator and the intake.

5. Remove the upper radiator hose from the water pump and radiator in the same manner.

6. Loosen the worm screws in each of the four metal bands, so they slide off each end of each hose. Metal bands are reusable on new radiator hoses.

7. Slide a metal band on each end of the new top and bottom radiator hoses. Place each hose in the original position. Tighten the worm screws in each band clockwise.

8. Close the radiator drain plug. Press down, and turn the radiator fill cap. Pull it straight up to remove it.

9. Fill the radiator with ready-to-use coolant, and replace the fill cap.
