Use A Starter Inside A Toyota Pickup

Toyota pickups started to ripen into general in the unpunctual 60's and didn't chicken feed yet until the mid-80's. The engine used in the trucks was either a 20R, 22R or a 22RE imitation. The 20 and 22R engines both posses carburetors, while the 22RE is a throttle-body injected engine. The starter on all three of the engines sits low on the passenger's side of the engine and access to it is from under the Motor lorry. The starter used on the three engine models is Equal and can be interchanged.

Plug the "S" wire onto the "S" terminal on the back of the starter solenoid. Push the connector on carefully so you do not bend the terminal.6.

Locate the cable aside, forging positive the cable cannot fall back against the battery while you are working on the starter.

2. Lift the front of your Toyota pickup with a jack and slide a fix of jack stands under the frame. Lower the jack, letting the Motor lorry rest on the jack stands. Slide under the passenger's side of the truck to position the starter up on the engine. The nose cone on the starter needs to slide into the hole in the bell housing and the starter solenoid points down on these starters.

3. Install the upper mounting bolt through the hole in the starter and thread it into the bell housing with your fingers. Align the lower mounting bolt hole with the threaded hole in the bell housing and install the lower bolt. Tighten both bolts until they are secure.

4. Install the larger wire with the ring connector, the "B" wire onto the stud on the side of the starter solenoid followed by the retaining nut. Tighten the nut with a wrench to secure it, being careful not to over-tighten it and crack the plastic housing.

Instructions

1. Remove the negative battery cable from the abrogating battery terminal, using a wrench to loosen the clamp bolt on the cable heel.

Move out from under the truck and raise the front end off the jack stands with a jack. Remove the jack stands from under the truck and lower it to the ground.

7. Install the negative battery cable on the negative terminal. Tighten the clamp bolt with a wrench, then test the installation by starting the truck.
