11. Mount the fuel tank onto the motorcycle. Screw the fuel tank hinge bolt into place, using a 10 mm socket and a socket wrench. Reconnect the fuel level sender and fuel pump connectors, then push the fuel hoses onto the fuel pump outlets. Lower the tank onto the frame, then screw the forward mounting bolts into place with a 6 mm Allen wrench.


12. Slide the hooks under the rear of the rider's seat under the bracket attached to the motorcycle's frame, near the tail fairing. Lower the seat onto the frame, then screw the seat mounting bolts into place with a 5 mm Allen wrench.


13. Push the plastic bosses at the rear of the fuel tank/frame covers into the grommets built into the tail fairing. Press the covers against the frame's hook-and-loop fasteners, then screw the mounting bolts into place at the front of the covers with a 5 mm Allen wrench. This step applies only to 2009 and newer GSX-R1000 models.
