Iron and steel are two of the metals most prone to rusting. Any design of iron, including lob iron or wrought iron, gets reddish brown flakes when rust forms. Steel gets silver flasks when it rusts. Both metals rust when they come into contact with doctor or moisture, on the other hand there are ways to prevent rust.
Instructions
1. Dry the iron and steel with cloths or paper towels. Many objects are manufactured with a rust-inhibiting coating, but this wears off after a while. Reapply the protective coating on a regular basis. Hardware stores sell a variety of rust-proof or rust-inhibiting primers suitable for use on iron or steel.
Try to avoid storing iron or steel objects in a damp basement or attic. The kitchen is also a place to avoid because of the heat and humidity from cooking.
3. Apply a rust-proof primer. The best way to prevent rust is to remove any moisture or water from the iron or steel item.2. Store iron and steel items in a dry and cool place.
