8. Connect the positive terminal of the second battery to the wire using the open end wrench, and connect the other end to the second terminal on the battery isolator using the same method.


9. Run a section of 2-gauge cable from the positive terminal on the first battery to the first terminal on the battery isolator, and cut to length with the wire cutters.


10. Strip off 1 inch from the end of the cable using the wire cutters, and then crimp on a terminal end to each side of the cable using the terminal crimpers.


11. Connect the positive terminal of the first battery to the wire using the open end wrench, and connect the other end to the first terminal on the battery isolator using the same method.


12. Run a section of the 18-gauge wire from the ground terminal on the battery isolator to the ground point for the second battery. Then, strip the ends using the wire cutters and crimp a ring terminal on each end.


13. Attach the 18-gauge wire to the ground using the open-end wrench, and then connect the other end to the ground on the battery isolator using the wrench as well.


14. Run a section of 18-gauge cable from the ignition lead on the isolator to the inside of the vehicle.


15. Probe the wires under the dash using the 12-volt test light to find an ignition source. To do this, put the test light on the wire and turn the key in the ignition to "on." If it lights up and then turns off with the key, you have found the right wire.


16. Slide the wire from the isolator into the Scotchlok connector and around the ignition wire that you just found. Crimp down the connector using the pliers.


17.Strip the other end of the 18-gauge wire and crimp on a ring terminal using the wire crimpers. Then connect it to the ignition lead on the isolator using the open-end wrench.
